Questions
A Belong plan that gets your rent to you on the first of every month, and keeps you getting paid if your Home is still empty after your Resident leaves.
Check Income Lock under Financials in your Belong Account. Every Home with a Resident is enrolled from November 1, 2026, in what it’s eligible for. Homes between Residents, or whose Resident has given notice to move out, join with their next Resident.
Lightning Rent: Homes with Guaranteed Rent, or where Belong holds at least a one-month security deposit, when your bank account takes instant payments. Rent Between Residents: Homes with a Resident and at least 6 months left on the lease, or from their next lease.
Homes you add later join automatically and start paying with their first rent.
Day 1 is the day after your Resident’s lease ended and they moved out. If your Home is still empty on day 46, you keep getting your most recent monthly rent for each day it stays empty, on your normal first-of-month payout, until your next Resident’s rent starts or 21 days after their lease is signed, whichever comes first. Up to 60 days of rent per vacancy.
No, as long as your next Resident moves in. What you receive works as an advance on your next Resident’s rent, and it’s fully forgiven the day they move in. You only pay it back if you end your agreement, sell outside Belong, or take the Home off the market before then. If you sell your Home through Belong, nothing is owed.
Your Home is listed with Belong at our recommended price, automatic price adjustments are on, and repairs are approved within 2 days. If one of these slips, coverage pauses until it’s back on track, and your Belong Account shows it as paused. Coverage ends for that vacancy if you take the Home off the market for personal use, sale or renovation, or if you decline a qualified applicant.
Your Home is covered for a move-out once it has been enrolled for 6 consecutive months, or from the start of its next lease, whichever comes first. Month-to-month leases are covered after 6 consecutive months. Lightning Rent starts right away.
If your Resident breaks the lease, Rent Guarantee keeps paying until the lease end date, and Rent Between Residents can start after that. Legal lease breaks, like a military clause, go straight to Rent Between Residents. For evictions and abandonments, day 1 is the day Belong has the Home back.
If your rent is guaranteed, nothing changes: you still get paid on the 1st. If it isn’t, you get paid when your Resident pays, and there’s no Lightning Rent fee that month. Rent Between Residents stays on either way.
It depends on what your Home gets: 1.99% of the monthly rent for both, $29.99/Mo. for Lightning Rent only, or 1.75% of the monthly rent for Rent Between Residents only. It’s taken from your rent payout, and you only pay in months you receive rent, so never while your Home is empty.
Yes, anytime in your Belong Account, for each Home. You can keep just Lightning Rent or just Rent Between Residents, or turn off both. Changes made before the 1st apply to that month. You can turn either one back on anytime your Home is eligible: Lightning Rent starts with your next payout, and Rent Between Residents covers a move-out after 6 consecutive months back in, or from the start of your next lease.
No. It’s a Belong service guarantee, like our placement promise.
